Training Drew Page 8

  “Yes, holy…god, yes…”

Her hips began to work on his fingers, meeting his steady, deep thrusts, her fingers rubbing back and forth across her clit in a near-frenzy now. Oh god, it felt so good, and soooo naughty, she turned her face to bury it in Bas’s neck, whining softly as the pleasure built and built.

“That’s it, baby girl, so close aren’t you? Yeah, that’s the way, come for me, sweetheart.” He murmured the words, letting her ride his fingers how it felt best for her, encouraging her to take her pleasure any way she needed. And she did, hips twisting to get his fingers to hit just the right spot inside, pinching her clit to extend the pleasure just a little longer and then, when it just got too much, she sank her teeth into his strong shoulder and screamed her release into his flesh.

Long seconds ticked by as she panted hard and tried to catch her breath and he just held her, fingers easing out of her so he could wrap both arms around her. Drew clung to him, burrowing into his neck as he lifted her off the counter and carried her out into the living room to stretch out on the couch with her in his arms. Finally, she blew out a soft breath and relaxed against him.

  “Holy crap.”

Bas laughed softly, one hand stroking over her hair. “Indeed.”

“What lesson was that?” she asked, breath still shaky.

“Lesson number ten. Pushing boundaries and doing things that are hard have great rewards.”

She smiled, settling more comfortably against him, cheek to his shoulder. “Like awesome orgasms.”

His laughter rumbled in his chest. “Yes, like awesome orgasms.”

Drew didn’t say anything for a minute, then lifted her head enough to meet his eyes. “How many lessons are there?” Would he teach her all of them? Everything he knew?

He cupped her cheek, thumb stroking gently. “There are as many as are needed.”

She wrinkled her nose at that cryptic answer. “What happens when I learn them all?”

Bas hesitated and her heart skipped, wondering if perhaps he was unhappy at the idea of maybe just letting her go find another Dom, too. Finally, he met her eyes and smiled, fingers brushing her hair back from her face. “When the time comes, I think you’ll know what to do. If you don’t…well, then I didn’t do a very good job of teaching you, did I?”

Drew already knew what she wanted, but maybe he didn’t want the same thing. Maybe she’d have to show him that he wouldn’t want to let her go when their lessons were over. Inwardly, she smiled. Maybe he wasn’t the only one with something to teach.

  Chapter Eight

Drew stood at the elevator doors, willing them not to open, for the elevator to get stuck so she didn’t have to leave. “I could call in…”

Bas smiled. “It’s not even a full day, little one. I will see you right back here at 6:30 pm tomorrow sharp.”

She cast him a sideways look, chewing on her lower lip. “You won’t change your mind?” Lord, that sounded desperate. She didn’t even care. It wasn’t every day a girl had a man like Sebastian fall into her lap – or vice versa – and she wasn’t about to let him slip away that easily. Even if it made her sound a bit pathetic.

Bas reached into the pocket of his jeans and pulled out a bit of the silky, fuchsia colored rope he’d used to bind her in his playroom, slightly thinner. She held her breath, watching silently as he reached out to lift her wrist and carefully secured the rope in a delicate, pretty knot around it. Her heart skipped a beat when he finished and his eyes met hers. “As long as you wear this, you are mine. I never abandon what belongs to me.”

She could hardly breathe, glancing down at the pretty rope so vivid around her wrist. “Thank you,” she whispered. It was like he was giving her his embrace to take with her, holding her, the way she’d felt when he’d bound her so beautifully.

Then the elevator dinged and the doors slid silently open. She made herself step on, and Bas held one hand against the open doors to keep them from shutting as he leaned in. “Give me a kiss, Drusilla.”

She was starting to not hate her name the way he said it. All husky and full of desire. It sounded beautiful on his lips. She obeyed and leaned forward to brush a soft kiss to his mouth. He caught her at the nape with his free hand and held her for a deeper, slow kiss that melted her brain before finally releasing her.

He didn’t say anything and neither did she, their gazes locked as Bas stepped back and the doors slid shut between them.

It was frigid outside, a shock after the past twenty four hours spent inside Sebastian’s loft and in his arms. She climbed into the waiting cab and as it pulled away onto the street she pulled out her phone.

On my way home. Have drinks waiting. She sent the text to Jeannie and then tucked her phone away. She knew her best friend would want details and god knew she felt like if she didn’t talk to somebody it’d all keep feeling like a dream that hadn’t really happened.

Her gaze fell on the prettily knotted rope around her wrist and smiled. But it had happened. And was still happening, really. She was going back and when she did, she was going to do her best to show Sebastian that she wasn’t a submissive he wanted to just train and then give away. He was going to want to keep her.

Drew made it a point to avoid the Asian taco truck for lunch the next day, instead heading to the Starbucks across the street from her office. Chad hated Starbucks, had told her more than once that the chain was the coffee version of Walmart, so she could be sure he wouldn’t be there. Eventually, she knew she’d have to deal with him, but not now. Not with Sebastian so fresh in her mind, his rope on her wrist like a physical touch claiming her all day long.

The day passed like an extra lazy sloth easing its way along a branch at an absolute crawl. It didn’t help that she hadn’t gotten much sleep – what with staying up late giving Jeannie all the dirty details – well, most of them, some she kept to herself. What was happening with Sebastian was special, she just knew it was, and it felt like telling all about it would somehow lessen the magic. She knew that was silly, but still – she didn’t feel terribly guilty for withholding just a bit.

She didn’t linger when five-thirty rolled around, tossing her stuff into her purse and hurrying for the elevator. She wanted to stop by home and freshen up before heading for Sebastian’s place. She shivered, wondering what was going to happen. What lessons did he have planned for tonight?

The bus was, thank god, on time for once and she managed to make it home with plenty of time for a quick shower and a change before she knotted the still damp mass of her hair up in a floppy bun atop her head and dabbed on a little perfume before scrawling a note for Jeannie and bolting. The metro into Arlington would take too long at rush hour, so she opted for her car, which got little use living in a city like DC. But today it was faster and frankly whatever got her to Bas the quickest was the answer.

She was shaking when she parked and rode the elevator up, but not from fear. From anticipation. Some part of her worried maybe he’d have changed his mind or wouldn’t be home as a way to brush her off, but then she looked down at the rope bracelet he’d given her and knew he’d be there.

Sure enough, the elevator doors slid open and he was there, leaning against the wall, and when she stepped out, he smiled. He took her breath away.

“Hi.” She clutched her purse, not sure what to say or do.

Fortunately, Bas always seemed to know just the right thing in every situation. He caught her at the waist with one hand and tugged her close, his lips on hers in a heartbeat. She melted against him, purse tumbling to the floor and arms winding around his neck as the whole world just drifted away and all that existed was him and the kiss. When it broke, she felt as though she’d been flipped upside down and around, all wobbly kneed.

“Wow. I thought all day maybe I’d over-exaggerated your kissing skills.”

  Bas grinned. “Verdict?”

  She blushed. “I didn’t.”

“Nice.” He chuckled and his gaze lifte
d up to her hair, lips quirking. “I like this, very casual sexy.” He gave the messy bun a flick with his finger.

She gave his shoulder a shove, self-consciously reaching up to tug the hair tie out and let it down. “Shush, it was still wet and I didn’t want to catch cold. It takes forever to dry, there’s so much.” Not only was her hair nearly to her waist, it was thick and full of waves and curls that never did quite the thing she wanted them to do.

Bas sank his hands into it and tugged her head back. Her breath caught as his teeth grazed her exposed neck with a little growl. “I like it, I get grabby with hair.”

Oh yes, she remembered that. “Feel free,” she breathed.

Bas gave a sharp little tug before he let go, bending to pick up her purse and hold it out. “Not here. Come inside.”

She took her purse and smiled when he took her hand, leading her down the corridor. As they passed the wide glass doors leading to the rooftop garden, her interest was piqued again. “Do you ever go out there?” she asked.

He nodded. “When it’s not freezing out, yeah.”

Drew shrugged one shoulder. “I like the cold. As long as there are blankets and maybe a big Viking to keep me warm.”

He paused, glancing outside then back down at her. “Is that so?”

She nodded. “It is. Maybe just…something to keep in mind.”

He laughed. “I definitely will. You’re no wilting little flower are you? I like that.”

“Really?” Well, thank god, because she really didn’t know how to be demure or anything classy like that.

  “Yes, really.”

She followed him into his loft, stomach flipping. Living room windows would never be the same for her.

It felt different today, the lights were on and though it was dark outside already this time of year there was a difference between 6:30 at night dark and after midnight dark. A completely different atmosphere.

She set her purse down on the entryway table and shrugged out of her coat, which Bas took and hung in the closet just inside the front door. It was then that she caught a whiff of something delicious and it wasn’t his cologne. Her eyes widened. “Oh my god. Did you cook?”

He laughed at her shocked tone. “I did…is that bad? I’m a good cook, I promise.”

“No, no, it’s not bad I just…wow. No guy’s ever cooked me dinner before.” Holy shit. He really was perfect. He had to stop or she was going to do something ridiculous like fall in love with him. “What did you make?” As if recognizing the promise of food, her stomach rumbled loudly.

“Have you ever had Kobe steak?”

She shook her head, following him, and her nose, toward the kitchen. “No…what is it?”

“It’s beef, but it’s an American version of a Japanese cattle. Very tender, lots of delicate fat to render and make it delicious. It’s called Wagyu in Japan. You’re not vegetarian are you?” He looked concerned he might have chosen wrong and the idea that this man might be worried about what she thought of a dinner he’d made special for her was…well, mind-blowing.

She shook her head, smiling. “No, not at all. I mean, I was for a little while in college but I think that was mostly me being too poor to afford anything but a lot of pasta. As soon as student loans would come through every semester I’d go back to being a carnivore.”

“Oh good. Here, sit down, it’s pretty much done, I’ve just kept it warming in the oven until you got here.”

She felt like she’d stepped into a fairy tale – a kinky one – as Bas sat her at the kitchen table with a glass of wine and went to get two plates from the oven, setting one in front of her with an admonishment to be careful of the heat. Not only was there a perfectly cooked boneless tenderloin on the plate, there was asparagus spears with garlic and lemon and a risotto. Wow.

  “This looks amazing.”

Bas sat down, pouring himself a glass of wine. “I’m glad. I figured you wouldn’t have time to eat before coming here and frankly, you’re too little to be missing meals.” He flashed her a smile.

“Ha, joke’s on you because I never miss meals, that has nothing to do with me being little. I eat more than any guy I ever went out to dinner with. It’s kind of embarrassing.” In which case why the hell was she telling him? Well, he was about to find out when she cleaned her plate. She wasn’t one of those girls who pretended not to have an appetite around guys. She was too hungry for that nonsense.

Bas grinned. “Good. I’d hate to think I went to all this trouble only for you to sit there and not eat.”

Thank goodness. She relaxed and dug in, letting out a little moan when she took her first bite of the steak. “Oh my god…”

  “I know, right? Exactly.”

“Perfect. You’re my favorite person right now.” She tucked one leg up under her and tilted her head at him as they ate. “So what do you do? For work? You said the other night that some guys from work had gotten the shape of this building wrong, like you were surprised they had, so what do you do that deals with geometry?”

“Not geometry, really, but math. I head the IT department for one of the major news channels.”

Drew lifted her brows. “Really? Can you say which one?”

“I mean, it’s not a national secret or anything. I don’t tend to always agree with their politics, though, so I try to keep that and my real life separate.”

“Ah. That makes sense.” She bit the end off one of the asparagus spears.

  “What about you?”

She wrinkled her nose. “I’m basically a peon. You know those sites where you can get local coupons and deals for events and restaurants and stuff like that? Like Groupon?”

  “Yeah.”

“I work in their marketing department. I run the social media stuff, like Twitter accounts and Facebook, all those kinds of things.” She shrugged. “It’s not exactly my dream job, but it’s good experience and the people are nice. Maybe someday I want to head a marketing department for some national organization, like the HRC or GLAAD or something. Where I’d feel like I was making a difference.”

Bas smiled. “I’m not surprised. That seems like just your kind of thing, giving back.”

She blushed. “How do you know that’s my kind of thing?”

“You’re sweet. You try not to hurt peoples’ feelings and you’re kind. Working to make lives better just…it suits.” He took a sip of his wine. “It also makes me feel a bit like a schlub for working in a company I don’t really approve of just because it pays the best.”

Drew bit her lip, shaking her head. “Oh don’t. I could have volunteered my services instead of taking a paying job right out of college. I didn’t. I’m no Mother Theresa, believe me. I like to eat and my shiny gadgets way too much.” To her relief, he smiled again and she thought maybe she’d managed to make him feel better. Even that it bothered him was proof that he wasn’t like most men she’d met. DC was populated by a lot of people who put number one first and only in their lives, so to meet a guy who had even an inkling of what a giving nature was…well, it was new, for sure.

“Besides…you’re kind of donating your services with me.”

Bas let out a short laugh. “How do you figure?”

She blinked, wishing now that she hadn’t said anything. “Um…well, I mean…you don’t plan to keep me, but you’re training me anyway. Like you said…so next time I know what kind of Dom I should pick.”

His smile faded and her stomach dropped. She’d said something wrong. Or misunderstood somehow. Shoot. Stupid mouth always running away with her.

“I’m sorry, that was dumb. I mean, you never said it outright, I just sort of assumed…you kind of implied, is all…”

He reached out to take her hand. “Stop. It’s fine. You didn’t misunderstand. You’re right, I want you to know what kind of Dom you deserve.”

And yet somehow she felt like she’d ruined the mood and a knot formed in her stomach. Silence fell over the room and Drew couldn’t breathe, staring down at her plat
e. Why did she let her words carry her away like that all the time? It always got her in trouble. She was just about to apologize again when Bas pushed away from the table, startling her. She jumped a bit, staring up at him, thinking maybe he was going to ask her to leave or something, but instead, he turned her chair – and her with it – to face him and crouched down so they were eye-level.

“Listen to me. You do not have to tiptoe around me. I am not some big, bad man who’s going to shout at you or get annoyed or think you’re a nuisance.” He cupped her cheek in one hand. “I get the feeling you’ve been treated that way a lot. Yeah?”

Dammit, her lower lip quivered even though she tried to stop it. She swallowed hard. “Yeah,” she whispered.

He shook his head. “Not here. Not with me. Okay? What was lesson number one?”

Drew thought back, then smiled, ducking her head a little. “To only be with a man who treats me like a treasure. Because I am one.”

“That’s right. You are. And right now you are my treasure. Remember that. And if anyone, including me, treats you otherwise, you walk out that door. Understood?”

  She nodded. “Understood.”

  “Good girl. You finished eating?”

Oh, she knew what was coming if she said yes and even if maybe she could have eaten a little more, she really, really wanted what came next. “Yes.”

“Good. Come with me to the playroom.”

She stood up, but before she could take a step, Bas shook his head with a dark little smile. She hesitated, frowning. “No? What?”

His gaze flicked to the floor, then back up. “I want you to crawl.”

Drew’s stomach pitched hard. Partly in shock – she’d never imagined crawling for anyone, for anything. But also…partly with arousal, for some unknown reason the mental image of herself on her hands and knees crawling toward Sebastian made her insides flutter and her pussy wet. Had he known she’d feel that way? Was there something about her that told him she was the kind of girl who’d get turned on by being made to crawl?

She didn’t know if she liked that idea or not.
